Realizing that the market was flooded with guitar players, Mike switched to the bass in the late seventies. He has performed in bands from Anchorage and the exotic Alaskan bush country to Portland, where the RCR was lucky to hear and latch onto him. Mike is also the RCR's music theorist, often settling the group's pondering of why a certain chord should or should not resolve to another. Mike's bass arrangements are the basis for the RCR's instrumental backgrounds, and his voice can be recognized on the RCR CD as he sings the lyrical Little Red Riding Hood, and on several other comical sketches during their live performances. Mike also devotes a bunch of his time to various civic organizations, including the West Linn Arts Commission. |
